Good news for everyone who doesn't follow Rob's advice, or in other words good news for everyone. This stuff isn't that complicated.

It obviously IS far too complicated for the innumerate, narcissistic, passive-aggressive, mentally ill internet troll and Habitual Liar Rob "hocus" Bennett to understand. Fortunatel he's an exceedingly small subset of the population! :D

It's good to see numbers confirm that the "4% Rule" continues to be a useful Rule-of-Thumb. And that's even before one considers that the only person blindly following the "The 4% Rule" with no deviation is that hypothetical individual whose portfolio is the basis of the studies. Real people behave differently than the hypothetical person in the study since they have the flexibility to alter their withdrawals in light of changing market conditions, changes in the balance remaining in their portfolios over time and even in expanding their equity investments into other asset classes rather than solely in the S&P 500 Index as the studies have assumed.
